Ryôdô Restaurant opened on March 4, 2020, in Luxembourg, designed by Marie-Paule Greisen. Ryôdô Kajiwara aimed to create a benchmark for Japanese cuisine in dialogue with European gastronomy. 

The restaurant has been successful since its opening, receiving recognition from the Gault&Millau and Michelin guides. In 2022, Ryôdô Kajiwara was named Chef of the Year by the Gault&Millau Guide.

Born in Saitama, Japan, Ryôdô Kajiwara trained in various cuisines in Tokyo and later moved to Luxembourg. He worked in several Michelin-starred restaurants in Luxembourg before opening his own establishment. 

Ryôdô Kajiwara focuses on merging Japanese and European culinary traditions, creating unique dishes that blend both influences. He emphasizes the use of fresh, high-quality ingredients and enjoys working with local products. 

Ryôdô Kajiwara has received several accolades, including the Gault&Millau 2022 Chef of the Year award. 

The restaurant offers a variety of dishes that showcase the chef’s expertise in Japanese cuisine with European influences. Some notable dishes include panko-crusted deer with yakiniku sauce and matcha tea cake inspired by the “Opera”. 

Ryôdô Kajiwara enjoys collaborative dinners and has expressed interest in cooking with chefs like Ilario Mosconi, Arnaud Magnier, and Christian Bau.
